Thank You! and a couple of other things

Thank you all so much for the beautiful rug! It is perfect and exactly what we needed for the front door. It looks great! Thanks for all the flowers and gift certificates and numerous other gifts. You all are always so generous!

We have received many many compliments on the show that I want to pass along to you. YOU ARE THE SHOW! It doesn't matter what kind of props that we use or how many lights are flashing, it's the dancers and their emotions that create the moment. Always smile and perform no matter whether you are on stage, in the school gymnasium or in the studio, someone is always watching you.

Spitfires, I have created an extra technique class on Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. These classes are for the dancer who wants to take it to the next level. We will working on serious technique. Proper dancewear will be expected along with the willingness to work hard and not goof off during this time. It's time to get serious and learn some new skills. Please do not attend if you are planning on talking and not paying attention in class. This class is $10 for the 2 hours, payable before each class.

I also expect to see you guys at the 1 hour combo class before your rehearsal time. There is no extra cost for these classes. They are included in your June tuition. Let's really work hard these next few weeks. Nationals will be really tough and we to be as prepared as possible. I love you all and feel so blessed to be a part of your lives!

TPAC Stage Door Entrance

Due to circumstances beyond TPAC's control, the typical stage
door entrance to Tennessee Performing Arts Center on
Union Avenue will be closed during dance show season this
year.

The alternative stage door entrance to be used by all dancers
will be on 5th avenue between the loading dock to your left
and the entrance to the Tennessee State Museum to your
right. Please note that 5th avenue is a one way street heading
north. Please adjust your driving/drop-off patterns
accordingly, and be sure to observe all traffic laws. There are
a good number of stairs leading down from the street to the
glass doors of this entrance. Specific needs for our disabled
patrons will be made on a case by case basis.

There will be plenty of signs inside the building once you
have used the temporary stage door entrance. These signs will
lead you and your dancers to the dressing room area of your
respective hall. The enclosed map will help to display these
instructions as they pertain to your event.

We’re terribly sorry for this change, and we thank you in
advance for your cooperation.

NexStar Fees Reminder

NexStar Nationals Fees are due in the office no later than June 1. That means you need to pay your bills before we leave for our one week break next week. We are working on the bills but here is what to expect to pay next week.

Summer Classes

I would like for as many of you as possible to attend the combination class before your summer rehearsals before we go to nationals. This class is included in your June fee. I have also scheduled 2 hours on Wednesdays from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm to work with them on technique. I know this is not the most convenient time for working parents but if it's possible I would like for them to attend this class. I would like to move them up to level 3 next year and we need to work more on technique and learn some new skills to compete at level 3. This class is extra and is not included in the monthly fee. Prop Help

If anyone's Dad is not busy on Saturday, Ken and Jane could use some prop help taking the props from the studio to Nolensville and while at the rehearsal and getting them back to the studio. Thanks!

Class of 2011 Celebration!

Let's honor our Class of 2011 on Wednesday, May 18th with Dinner and blessings! Legacy will provide the chicken and paper goods. Please bring a side dish of your choice. Bring your lawn chairs. Let's plan on eating around 6:00 pm. Thanks!

Helpful Hints

We received an email that was sent to all studios that participate in the ShowStoppers Competitions. We thought it would be helpful to pass this along to the students:

Tricks of Champions
1. Unless you have a major costume malfunction a la Janet Jackson in the Super Bowl, Keep Going!

2. Save the lip synching for driving in the car.

3. Staring matches with the judges don't earn you extra
points. A quick glance won't hurt but keep your focus on the audience, not the panel scoring you.

4. Be happy! Your personality counts for more than you think.

5. Participate in every part of the competition, classes, awards....live in the moment. The team that plays together stays together and it shows on stage!

REMINDER: The cut off to reserve rooms at Myrtle Beach Camelot Resort is May 10th. After that they will release the 17 rooms that we booked that have not already been reserved. Please call 1-800-895-3721 and give the group name “Legacy Dance” to the reserve your room if you want to stay at the Camelot. Thanks!
